Ferry guide

Eating before the Interislander or Bluebridge sailing

How much time you really have once check-in is counted, who is open early for the first sailings, and what travels well onto a three-hour crossing.

Count back from check-in, not departure

The time you have for a meal ends at check-in, not at the sailing time. Interislander asks foot passengers to check in at least 60 minutes before departure, and its vehicle check-in on Lagoon Road closes 60 minutes before (foot passengers, vehicles). Bluebridge publishes its own check-in hours on its terminals page. Operators change these details, so check your booking.

The Interislander terminal is at the bottom of Auckland Street, a short walk from the town centre. Bluebridge's terminal is at 1 Lagoon Road, which Bluebridge describes as under a kilometre from the town centre, with a free shuttle to and from the i-SITE. Walking times on this site are measured from the Interislander terminal.
